Background

In 2005, Cristian Castro and José José made a special appearance on Don Francisco Presenta.[1] During the interview, Castro regarded José José as his musical godfather and sung parts of "La Nave del olvido". Castro stated that "La Nave del Olvido" inspired him to become a singer.[2] In 2008, Castro was one of the selected artists to perform at Latin Grammy Award tribute to Jose Jose.[3] The title of the album is a reference to José José's alias, "El Principe de la Cancion" (The Prince of Song).[4]
